Soola is a campus events and societies platform built for university students in Ireland. These Terms of Use explain the rules for creating an account and using the app, alongside our Privacy Policy.
By creating an account or using Soola, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Soola is designed for use by students at supported universities in Ireland. By using Soola, you confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements described below.
Soola is available only to current students at supported universities in Ireland, verified via your university email domain at sign-up. Eligibility is not re-verified after sign-up — for example, we do not check whether you have since graduated. Losing eligibility does not automatically affect your account; your data continues to be handled as described in our Privacy Policy until you choose to delete your account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.
Users designated as admins for a society are responsible for accurately recording their society's membership and payment status within the app. Soola is not a party to the arrangement between a member and a society regarding membership fees, does not collect or process any payment on the society's behalf, and is not responsible for a society's fee-collection process. Misuse of admin permissions — including inaccurately marking a membership as paid — may result in removal of admin access.
You agree not to:
You retain ownership of content you submit (including society newsletters and event details), but you grant Soola a licence to process, store, and display that content within the app for the purpose of operating the service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content you upload, including where it contains another person's details.
Society admins may upload newsletters and event materials that are processed to extract event details for display in the app, as described in our Privacy Policy. If a newsletter includes another person's details (for example, a committee member's name or contact email), the admin uploading it is responsible for ensuring it is appropriate to share that information through the app.
Where a society charges membership fees, Soola is not a party to that arrangement. Any collection of membership fees happens outside the app, and Soola does not process or hold payments on behalf of a society. The app only reflects the membership and payment status recorded by a society's admin.
The Soola app, its branding, and its underlying software are the property of Soola and its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app except as permitted by these Terms.
Soola may contain links to third-party websites, including business websites featured in "Deals of the day" and society social media profiles. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party site.
Soola is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any event, deal, or society information will be accurate or up to date.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Soola shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to disputes between a user and a society regarding membership fees or eligibility.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may stop using Soola and delete your account at any time via the app's account settings.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to privacy@soola.org.
